DEATH OF " POISON." SCHOOL CHILDREN'S DOG. Quite a gloom has been cast over NarroJnine, New South Wales, by tho death of ."Poiscm," tho children's dog, which was run over by a motor-car recently. lie had been tho town children's friend for Several years, and derived his name from the fact that ho was poisoned on several Occasions but always recovered.

It was "Poison's" custom to accompany the children to and from school. Ho was always in the playground during play hours, but always disappeared when tho bell rang for lessons. Dining the. holidays ho was never near tho school, but on the day that lessons resumed he would be seen escorting a group of children along the road to school. lie was everybody's friend, and was yossibly the bestknown dog in tho district.
