INTOXICATED DRIVER.

FINE OF £ls IMPOSED, CANCELLATION OF LICENCE. A charge of being found intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car in Mount Eden Road was preferred against Charles Ilolden Wood, aged 66, retired, in the Police Court on Saturday. Detective-Sergeant Kelly said accused was arrested at. the corner of Mount Eden Road and Valley Road early that morning. His car was backed into a post and he was intoxicated at the wheel.

"Accused has not taken liquor for some time and his condition was due to three whiskies," said counsel. Accused was fined £ls and his licence was cancelled for three years.
