FIREMEN'S AWARDS.
PAPATOETOE BRIGADE. The annual presentation of trophies and certificates to members of the Papatoetoe fire brigade was held in the fire station on Saturday evening, Mr. W. J. Nicholson, chairman of the Town Board, presiding. Members of the board and local authorities were present. The Mawkes Cup and medal for the one-man championship of the local brigade was won by Deputy-Superintendent A. Gulland. Three-year certificates were awarded to Foreman P. Peunel, and Fireman It. McKenzic and Dr. J. J. Valentine and Dr. A. 13. Jameson.
