MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED.
IMPACT WITH POWER POLE. CONDITION FAIRLY SERIOUS. Serious injuries to the head were received by Mr. William Nicholson, aged 52, married, of 111, Station Road, Penrose, as a result of his motor-cycle colliding with a power pole at the corner of Great South Koad and St. Mark's Road, Epsom, at Mr. Nicholson was riding his machine in the direction of his home, and approached too close to the kerb in taking the corner at the junction of Manukau Road and Great South Road, finally striking the post with considerable force.
The rider was thrown from his machine, and in falling struck his head against tho kerb. Mr. Nicholson was taken to tlie Auckland Hospital in the St. John ambulance. His condition late last evening was fairly serious. The impact was sufficient to smash the motor-cycle almost beyond repair. It was twisted half-way round the pole, almost every component part being bent.
