Porter, the proud Auckland owner of an Austin Seven says:— " I am still driving the Baby Austin that you sold me seven years ago. " Mine was one of the first Baby Austins on the road, and I will never forget the sensation it caused. Now, of course, they are everywhere, a tribute to the reliability of the Austin workmanship. My own experience has been remarkable, and worth recording, though I am convinced that it is only what anyone may get from an Austin properly handled. Let me first say I am no mechanic, and that this car is the only one I have ever driven, so that you can see it is not due to ability on my part, but wholly to the wonderful dependability of Austin engineering. " Seven years* hard gruelling on all classes of roads, in all weathers, and practically seven days a week. An average mileage of 200 per week for seven years, which works out at a total of 72,800 miles, and never a breakdown. The only repairs in that time have been due to honest wear, and were negligible. " The car is still as good as the day it was new; looking a little old, but still standing up to it, and performing with the best, like the honest pal it has always been.
