WAIKATO HOSPITAL.
PAST YEAR'S OPERATIONS. COST OF COUNTRY SERVICES. [from nrrt OWN- correspondent.! HAMILTON. Fridny. The Waikato ITrspital Board considered its estimates for the coming year at its meeting yesterday. Mr. J. J. Ryburn presided. The treasurer, Mr. E. G. Johnson, reported that last, year it was estimated that the receipts would amount to £71,491. The amount actually received was £74,856, including £3OOO advanced by the Government against the current year's levies. Receipts exceeded expenditure by £3365. The patients' fees at both the Waikato and Mafamata Hospitals exceeded the estimates. It was estimated that the receipts for the coming year would total £71,647. The amount required to be raise ! by way of levy and subsidy was £49,795. Outdoor relief given in return for labour to unemployed during last, year (otalled £903, while £3346 was paid in ordinary outdoor lelief. The treasurer reported that the net cost of assisting the Awakino-Mokau, Mokai, Raglan and Kawhia Medical Associations, for the last financial year, owing to subsidies being eliminated, was £BO2, an increase of £564 if the loss was entirely borne by the board.
