LITTLE THEATRE SOCIETY.

SUCCESSFUI. AT HOME. APPEAL FOR. MEMBERSHIP. A programme of an exceptionally high standard was presented by members and friends of the Auckland Little Theatre Society last evening at, a largely-attended At Home held by the society in tho Town Hall. Almost every seat was occupied and every item presented received wellrr.erited support frcm the .audience.

The hope that ii! the membership increased the society would be able to provide a hall of its own was expressed by the producer, Mr. Gaston Mervalc.

Professor R. M. Algie, a vice-president of the society, aise made an appeal for a larger membership. The programme, each item of -which was introduced with a humorous announcement by Mr. Charles Archer, included songs by Madame Kate Campion, Miss Ri'la McGullay, Mr. Geoffrey Colledge and Mr. B." Skeels; humorous items tiy Mr. Alan MsEhvain and Mr. Dan .Flood; conjuring by Mr. E. Axford; song and dance \v Miss Patricia Boyle; dance by Miss Lesley Crane; violin solo by Mr. Vincent Aspey; and Scotch humour by Mr. Elton Black. A dance duo was given by '* Adagio " and an exhibition of the Argentine Tango by Miss Margaret O'Connor arid Mr. Priestley concluded a thoroughly enjoyable programme. Mrs. Charles Primo and Mr. Whittaker acted as accompanists.
