LEAGUE OF NATIONS.
JAPAN MAY WITHDRAW. MANCHURIA CONTROVERSY. TOKTO. March 27. As (he League of Nations has decided, in the event of direct Sino-Japanese negotiations failing to settle the Manchurian question to apply Article XV. of the Covenant, which Japan opposes, maintaining that it is inapplicable, it is reliably stated that Japan has now definitely determined to withdraw from the League at tho earliest opportunity.
