ELLERSLIE RACES.

SUITS AND ENSEMBLES. MORE SOMBRE COLOURS. '■ Colours, 'of a more sombre, hue than wei'6 noticeable on Saturday were a feature of the frocking at the final day of the Auckland Racing Club's autumn meeting at EUerslie yesterday. The steady downpour of rain in the early morning made racegoers chary of appearing, in light or very colourful apparel, and although the sun triumphed over the rain quite early in the day, women were wise in their choice of tweeds and woollens, for the weather was not warm. Tweed suits and ensemblesMield pride of place and were exceedingly smart. Black and brown, sombre in themselves, but brightened effectively with coloured felt hats, scarves and other accessories, were the two colours mainly favoured, although blue in its varying shades, ranging from navy to powder blue, looked very attractive. The tricorne hats and other new shapes, frequently trimmed with a feather in a contrasting shade, gave a final touch of smartness to the tailored suits and ensembles. Among those present were:—Mrs. H. 0.
