A 10-year-old aeroplane, the DIJ. 37, dived into the. sea off Crowdy Head, near Port Macquario to-dav Avith three occupants, tho pilot, Mr. P. Hall, Mr. John Kingsford Smith and ]\lr. Harry Purvis. All three men escaped injury and swam a mile, toward the shore. There they were picked up by the crew of a fishing boat. The accident is ascribed to an eaglehawk striking the propeller of the machine.
