A good start saw Cirnnrl Review nnrl Fast Passage show out quickly .and when the stands were reached Grand Review was Ihe leader, with Fast Passage, Lady Musk, Speedmint and Exaggernt ion racing in a hunch next. .Tust after passing tho judge's box (he first time Lady Musk ran up to the leader nnd turning into the back stretch she was up on the outside of Grand Review, with Flower, Fast Passage, Speedmint, Limeen and Exaggeration following in close order. At the six-furlongs post Fast Passage dropped right back last. Speedmint then moved up smartly to join Grand Review in the lead.. With four furlongs to go Speedmint headed Grand Revi»w and she went on to lead into the straight two lengths clear of 0 rand Review, Exaggeration, Flower and Limeen. Below the distance Exaggeration issued a challenge and Limeen then came on the ontsid". Momentarily it appeared as if they might severely test Speedmint, but she went on like tt stayer to score handsomely by a length anrl ii-quarter from Limeen. Flower was three lengths away third and Exaggeration was fourth. Then, after an interval of six lengths, camo Lady Musk and Grand Review. Speedmint won handsomely and is a good filly likely to lie a successful performer over middle distances in the future. She is the second Oaks winner trained by P. E. Pope, who won the in 1021! with Danae. Limeen finished oil' solidly without having a chance with the winner, but Exaggeration faded in the last furlong after looking an almost certain at the distance. Flower just plodded on at tho end and Fast Passage was going nicely until her trouble came against her in the middle stages.
