The heavy rain on Tuesday night was just, what was wanted to give the bid lis a good start, and there aro now many little green shoots above ground. Tlieltna Coafes has sent a sprig of pretty clear white berries, and wants to know if ] can tell her the name. They are a variety of coprosma, Thelma. These beautiful berries are of many colours, orange, red, white, blue, and yellow, but the most beautiful of all is the blue, which grows to perfection on Arthur's Pass, in Canterbury, and also in South Wcstland. I shall have great pleasure in going through the entries for our "Joy of a Garden " contest, which closes on Saturday and also in selecting the prize for the winners.
