Mushrooms are still with us, and the following recipe is worth trying:— Take lib. mushrooms, potatoes, 1 email onion, streaky bacon, £!ib.^ flaky pastry, seasoning. Place in a pie-dish sliced potatoes, peeled mushrooms, and bacon cut- in strips, with a sprinkling of seasoning and a little minced onion. Pour in one cup water and ppfc a few bits of butter or dripping on the top. Cook for about 20 minutes on top of the stove, then let it cool off before putting on a moderately thick crust of pastry. if a little more gravy is desirable add some stock or more water. Bake :in good oven half-hour after the crust has been ■jut on.
