CATCHING FLIES.
Got a glass, and three-quarters fill it with warm, soapy water. Take a piece of cardboard (back of writing pad will do) cut out a round piece, about 4in. across, or just a little bigger than the top of your glass, and mako a little round hole in the centre not quite as big as a threepenny-piece. Smear a littlo sweet jam, or honey, on one side, near the little hole, and place it over the glass of water, jam side down. It is as well to givo the top a light tap with your fingers once in a while. r lhat knocks the flies into the water, and they drown. This catcher may not bo very successful for the first day or so, as the top has to bo a bit smelly first.
