MAJOR SENT TO PRISON.
Found guilty at Dorset Assizes of tho manslaughter of a married couple in a motor collision on polling day of tho British general election, Major Lionet Arthur Liddell, of Creekmore Farm, Poole, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment in the second division.
It was alleged that Major Liddell had drivQn with reckless 6peed at a crossroad and crashed into a car containing voters, turning it over. The owner of the car, Mr. G. P. W. Hallowes, a retired civil servant, and his wife, died in hospital. Tho three other occupants were injured*
