WHEAT IN NORTH OTAGO.
It is considered by those in a position to express an opinion on the subject that (ho yield from the wheat crops in North Otago this season will average between fifteen and twenty bushels. Much of the wheat has been discoloured by the showers which have fallen since tho very heavy downpour nearly a month ago. and there will be much wheat that will bo unfit for milling. Threshing from tho stook, which was proceeding in all parts of the district prior to the rain, has been stopped, and that portion of tho crop which was then unthreshed is being stacked.
