IRISH LABOUR PARTY.
BALANCE OF POWER.
INTENDED USE IN DAIL. (Received February 28, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 27. The council of the Irish Labour Party is awaiting Mr. Eamonn dc Valera's programme before asserting its balance of power. The Leader, Mr. Norton, says he intends to compel Mr. de Valera's Government first to concentrate on unemployment, housing, the development of industries and assistance to small farmers. The economic position is too serious, says Mr. Norton, to waste time in bickering over political issues. Labour intends to serve as a barrier between- a reactionary policy and that of the Nationalists.
