WEDDING.

SHIELD—'THROP. The wedding was celebrated in All Saints' Church, Dunedin, last week of Miss Adeline Throp, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Throp, of Dunedin, to Dr. Arthur Leslie Shield, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. 11. Shield, of Waiwhenua, Hastings. The Rev. Archdeacon Whitehead officiated and Mr. A. \V. Lilly played the wedding music. The bride entered the church accompanied by her father to the strains of the Lohengrin " Wedding March." She wore heavy pearl coloured satin, cut to fit the figure anrl reaching to the ground. The back panel was shaped to form a train which was sewn with small pearls. Her veil of exquisite ivory-coloured Limerick lace was an heirloom lent by the bridegroom's mother .and was clasped to the head by a circlet of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of roses and white heather. The bridesmaids were Miss Barbara Williams, Miss Evelyn Pinckney (Glenavy), Miss Margaret Reid, and Miss Dorothy Roberts. They were dressed alike in slim-fitting frocks of pale turquoise blue georgette, falling to the ground. Their V-shaped necklines were clipped with turquoise and steel brooches and their long, tightfitting sleeves were buttoned to the elbow similar to the bride's. On their heads they wore wreaths of rose-pink larkspur and blue love-in-a-mist, and carried sheafs of the same. Dr. Shield was attended by Mr. John Edmond as hestman, and Mr. Kenneth Throp (Lincoln) and Mr. Neil Watson (Invcrcargill) were ushers.
