STATEMENT OF POLICY

The loader of the Republican Party in the. Irish Free, Slate, Mr. Eamonn fie Valerii, is confined to bed suffering from a chill. He has replied to a questionnaire suhrnittnd by the Daily Telegraph. Mr. do Yalera said he anticipated no difficulty in securing a majority in the, Dail. The abolition of the oath of allegiance was a matter likely to be raised at an early sitting. He intended to foster trade and friendly relations with Britain.
It was possible that Ireland would he represented at the Ottawa Conference. He was prepared to negotiate agreements giving preference to British goods in return preference to Irish Free State produce.
The. standing army of the Free State would be reduced to the smallest dimensions consistent with safety. He. did not anticipate) disorder if the Public Safety Act were repealed. On the contrary he believed tbe removal of the oath of allegiance would secure Willing obedience of the law.
