GOLD IN THE SEA.
RECOVERY BY DIVERS.
BEREN'G ARIA'S INGOTS. (Received February 27. 12.15 a.m.), PARIS, Feb. 26. Divers have recovered the. jjold lost from the Berengaria at Cherbourg, on Tuesday. When 426 boxes of gold from New York were being unloaded from the Berengaria at Cherbourg on Tuesday a cliain crane broke and 10 boxes fell on the quay and burst open. Tho contents of six boxes, valued at £IOO,OOO, fell into the water. Divers were summoned, but it was thought that salvage work would be very difficult as the gold ingots weighing 501b. each were buried deep in mud.
