CYCLIST KILLED.
FOUND DEAD ON ROAD. ARREST OF MOTORIST. [BY TELEGRAPH. —FRF.SS ASSOCIATION.] ELVWERA, Friday. Apparently having been struck bv a motor-car, a cyclist, Mr. Reginald Ernest Duggan, aged 20, was found dead in Glover Road, Hawera, shortly after midnight. The bicycle he had been riding was found some distance away completely wrecked.
Early tlis morning Pikau Pokau, a Maori, aged 21, was arrested and was remanded on a charge of negligent driving, thereby causing Mr. Duggan s death.
