ESCAPED PRISONERS.
abandoned car found. DISCOVERY NEAR TAUMARUNUI. [bv telegraph.—own correspondent.] TAUMARUNUI, Friday. The Chrysler car belonging to Mr. I?. E. Cuthbertson, of Turangi, in which the prisoners, Edgar William Allen and Charles Bennett, aro believed to have escaped from the llautu Prison Camp, near Tokaanu, early on Sunday morning, has been found by the police abandoned near Okahukura, about seven miles north of Taumarunui, with the benzine tank empty. Groceries, blankets, rugs, crockery, mattresses and other articles, similar to those stolen from a storo at Ohaupo 011 Sunday evening, were found in the car. There was 110 sign of the prisoners.
