RICHARD DIX'S INCOME

ARREARS IN TAX PAYMENTS. Mr. Richard Dix, the film star who played one of the leading roles in " Cimarron," was fined £IOO at Los Angeles, last, month. He pleaded guilty to charges of arrears in income-tax payments amounting to £6605 for the years 1927 and 1928.

While giving evidence, he revealed that he had already paid £7850 in income-tax arrears 1 and fines covering the years 1926, 1927 and 1928. The Government investigators claimed that in 1927 Mr. Dix earned £48,365 and paid only £5767 instead of £8663.

The investigators alleged also that in 1928 he earned £61,015. Of this sum, they stated, he paid only £8067 instead of £11,776.
