TO WASH LACE.
An easy way to wash white lace is to roll it round an earthern jar, and stitch the ends together. Put the jar 011 an old plate, stand in a saucepan and cover the jar entirely with soap and water. Let this boil for some time, adding water occasionally. To clean gold or tinsel braid, pound a small piece of rock ammonia to a powder. Apply this to the braid, and rub briskly. The tarnish will disappear at once, and the braid will look fresh and new.
