WOMEN'S DIVISION.

FARMERS' UNION. Mrs. L. L. Allen, president of the Waitemata Provincial Council and president of the Auckland executive of the women's division of the Farmers' Union, has just concluded a tour of North Auckland, which had been conducted in the division's interests. While away she visited and gave addresses at. Maungakaramea, Towai, Waimate North and Ohaeawai. Mrs. Allen reinstated a branch that had lapsed at Kawakawa, Mrs. Cleary being re-elected president, _Miss Cookson, secretary, and Mrs. Vincent Taylor and Mrs. Rear, vice-presidents, with a -supporting committee. At Ohaeawai the meeting was held at the residence, of Mrs. Cecil Ludbrook, and members were present from the following branches:—Kerikeri, Kaeo, Kaikohe, Whangaroa, Waimate North and Ohaeawai. The meeting was a large, one and much interest was taken in the proceedings. Mrs. Allen reported upon the recent meeting of the executive held in Auckland. There are now 222 branches of the division to date with a membership between nine and ten thousand. A meeting of the Waitemata. provincial council of the women's division of the Farmers' Union was held in Auckland yesterday. It, was attended by the following members:—Mrs. Noel Adams, and Mrs. Bryan, of Clevedon ; Mrs. Hull e.nd Mrs. F. Lawson, of Te Kohnnga: Mrs. H. Kinder, Port, Waikato; Mrs. Merton, and Mrs. Naughfon. Kaukapakapa; Mrs. M. Orr, Mrs. Wells and Mrs. H. A. Hawke, Pukekawa: Mrs. Dyer and Mrs. L. L. .Allen, Onewhero. AWAKERE BRANCH. The first meeting of the year of the women's division of the Farmers' Union was held in the Awakere Hall recently. Mrs. Barr presiding. Methods of bottling fruit and vegetables, also jelly making were discussed. It was decided to have a Farmers' Union picnic at Thornton Beach on Saturday, March 5. Hostesses were. Miss Greenup, Mrs. Hepburn.
