CHAMPION PAIRS COMPETITION.
Au cufry of fifty-six pairs lias been received for llio Auckland Bowling Centre's champion pairs competition, which will commence at 8.4 r > o'clock next Tuesday on various greens, inter-section and final play being scheduled to take place on the Carlton green 011 Thursday. ROTORUA TOURNAMENT. RICHARDS AND WALKER TO MEET. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ROTORUA, Thursday. The Rotorua pairs bowling tournament was continued to-day. A light shower fell in the early part of the morning, but did not interfere with the day's play. Section play was concluded this afternoon. In section A, Richards (Rotorua) was defeated in ono game only, with Higginbotham (Henderson) second with two losses. Maxwell Walker (Auckland) lost two games only in section B and headed the list. In the post-section game, "Walker defeated Higginbotham by three points. Walker was leading by nine points at the 18th head. Higginbotham gained three points at the 19th head and four at the 20th. Walker. added another point to score at tlio 21st head and the game ended :—Walker, 24; Higginbotham. 21. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AROHA, Thursday. One of the most enjoyable night matches held in Te Aroha this- season was played last evening, when eight rinks of Hamilton howlers visited the town for a friendly interclub match. The game attracted an exceptionally largo gallery of spectators. Supper was provided by tlio ladies. The Te Aroha president. Mr. E. C. Wykes. announced at the conclusion of play that the visitors bad won on an aggregate score of 159 points to 156. He said it w-as the first visit by the Hamilton Club for 11 years and expressed the hope that the event would be ail annual one. Mr. Masters replied for the Hamilton players. ■ . . . .
