BATTERY IN CAMP.
LIVE-SHELL PRACTICE. [BY TELEGRAM. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ROTORUA, Thursday. Live sliell practice by the First Battery of the First Field Brigade, R.N.Z.A., took place to-day at the Atiamuri Road range. Changeable weather hampered operations somewhat and a shoot w:th aeroplane observation was postponed. The battery, which is under the command of Captain J. 11, Turnbull, was inspected to day by Colonel F. Symon, Director of Artillery, who expressed himself as pleased with the steadiness of the men at their guns. Fine weather has prevailed since camp was pitched at Aravva Park on Saturday, and the men are enjoying their bivouac. There are 56 non-commissioned officers and men in camp. Further shooting with live shells.will be carried out to-morrow and the battery will break camp and return to Auckland by Saturday's express. It is expected that the Third Battery will take over the camp on Monday next.
