PIRATES' TREASURE.
FIND BY FISHERMAN. GOLD WORTH £12.£)00. NEW YORK, Feb. 23. A message from Nassau, Bahama Islands, West Indies, says the police report that Gerald Fitzgerald, a poverty-stricken fisherman, found fivo bars of gold, valued at about £12,000, in the rocks beneath a wild plum tree 011 the shore of New Providence Island. Apparently the fisherman has unearthed a hiding placo for ancient pirates' .treasures. It was marked with the Freemasons' insignia. The British Government will receive about two-thirds of the value of the gold.
