Sir.—-Dosen't it appear strange at, a time like this, when it is in tho interest of the country to conserve all the money we can, and not send it abroad, that year after year we are sending thousands of pounds out, of the country for woolpacks and sacks, while at, the same time we are trying, to find a market for our New Zealand flax? Would not out, flax make first-class material for both woolpacks and sacks and give work to a good many of the unemployed'! Francis Hull.
