SOLICITOR FOUND SHOT.
VERDICT OF SUICIDE. [from our own* cob respondent.] HAMILTON, Wednesday. An -inquest concerning the death of Leslie Raymond Russell, aged 39, single, a solicitor, of Hamilton, who was found dead in his office in Albany Buildings, Victoria Street, shortly before one o'clock on tho morning of February 17, was held before the coroner, Mr. Wyvcrn Wilson, S.M., in Hamilton to-day. William Charles Tanner, solicitor, of Hamilton, said ho received a telephone call shortly-after midnight from Mr. It. R. Young, of To Rapa, who said he wanted to see him; urgently. A little later Young arrived with a loiter from deceased, from the contents of which witness gathered he had committed suicide. Accompanied by Young, witness immediately went to deceased's office, where his body was found lying on tho floor with a rifle alongside. Evidence of having received a letter with five enclosures from Russell shortly after 11 p.m. on February 10 was giv||i by Richard Ruston Young, who corroborated the statements of the previous witness. The coroner returned a verdict of suicide.
