HUNTER ESTATE CASE.
PUBLIC TRUSTEE'S PROPOSAL. RESULTS BEING AWAITED. [by telegraph.—thess association.] "WELLINGTON", "Wednesday. Tlie litigation in connection with the estate of the late Sir George Hunter, in which Cyril Hunter, as executor, moved that, probate be granted him of the testator's 1924 will, pronounced for by Mr. Justice Reed and subsequently affirmed by the Court of Appeal, was resumed in the Supreme Court to-day. Lady Hunter, widow of the testator, has moved, on tlie other hand, for an order that the executor named in the 1924 will be passed over and that, an order be made authorising the Public Trustee to administer the estate in accordance with that will. Counsel for Lady Hunter announced at the hearing on Tuesday that lie had seen the Public Trustee, who was prepared to finance the whole of the liabilities of the estate on a day-to-day balance at an overdraft rate of 6} per cent. In adjourning the case to-day, the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, said he would give counsel a special appointment some time next week, when what transpired as a result of the Public Trustee's proposals would be known. His Honor said that, if necessary, he would want to hear what leading counsel for Lady Huner had to say on the question of jurisdiction, and, if necessary, he would also want to hear what Cyril Hunter's proposals were.
