Vincent last evening:—A deep westerly depression i.s located on the southwest, Tasmun Sea, and is moving on to tlie Dominion, Indications favour fair to fine weather ruling temporarily, although with considerable cloudiness, and scattered showers are likely in western districts. South-westerly winds, light to moderate, veering by west to north, then freshening. Seas moderate. Local outlook: Mainly fair to fine, although somewhat unsettled at. times, with a tendency for an occasional light shower. Warmer temperatures. Barometer, midnight, rising .. 29.35 in. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —A cyclone is still centred north of Chatham Islands, but is now moving away. Pressure is high over southern Australia, while a depression covers the Tasman Sea. Indications arc for winds tending to be northerly and freshening. Seas still considerable. Southerly swell south of East Capo, but decreasing; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Freshening northerly winds and rising seas in the eastern portion of the Tasman Sea. The weather will bo fair to fine at first and warmer later, becoming unsettled in western districts, with rain developing and extending gradually to oilier parts. RAINFALL. RECORD.
