A link with the very beginnings of Methodism in England has come into possession of the New Zealand Methodist Church, in the shape of a pair of oldfashioned brass candlesticks, used by John Wesley in his room at Wesley's Chapel, City Road, London. At to-day's session of the Methodist, Conference, it was announced that the president, tho Rev. M. A. Rugby I'ratt, had received the relics from the trustees of tho estate of tho late Miss Eliza Ivitchingham, of Christchurch. The candlesticks will be handed to the Chvuch museum authorities.

In a covering letter, the trustees state that the relics first canie into the possession of the great-grandfather of Miss Kitchingham, and had been retained in the family since then.
