ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

TOUR OF SOUTH AFRICANS. PREFERENCE FOR DOMINIONS. [BY TELEGRAI>H. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Tuesday. At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Football Association a letter was read from the South African Association stating that if it were decided to visit Java, (here could be little prospect of any round tour to include Australia and New Zealand owing to the distance to be travelled and the time involved. Any visit to Australia and New Zealand at any timer would need to be made quite apart from any other. There was little likelihood of a tour to Java being arranged this year. There was a feeling in some Quarters that if a team were sent from South Africa in 1933 it might be preferable to ask Australia and New Zealand to receive it, the* idea being that the Dominions should receive preference if possible. Letters were received from the Wellington and Otago Associations stating that they were unfavourable to receiving a team from Australia this season and. in view of the financial position, an Auckland motion to abandon the tour was carried unanimously. The annual meeting of the association is to be held on April Sat Wellington. The travelling expenses of delegates are to be paid.
