WAIKATO.
TE RAPA RACES. The opening day of the Waikato Racing Club's summer meeting, which was postponed on Saturday owing to the heavy rain, was held a To Rapa 011 Monday. The weather was fine, but a cold wind was blowing, and many preferred tweed suits and costumes lo light summer frocks. Among those present were: Mrs. F. I). Pinfold, Mrs. R. T. Reid, Mrs. E. A surprise party was taken lo the home of Mrs. C. H. Ilolloway, on Friday evening. fur Mr. Harry Ilolloway, who is leaving Hamilton to attend the Auckland University. The evening was happily spoilt in dancing and games. Miss E. Bell and Mr. T. Missen won the Monte Carlo dance. Mrs. Ilolloway wore a. froik of black panne velvet. Among those present, were: Miss E.
