INTENTIONS OF PAAVO NURMI % Paavo Nurmi, the great Finnish run/ier, who won Olympic Games honours as long ago a.s 1920. has stated that he will probably compete in the 10.000 metres and the Marathon events at the forth coming Olympiad at Los Angeles. He thinks his strongest rivals in these events will bo Finns. It is Nurmi's opinion that Jules Ladouniegue, the French holder of the world mile record, will win Iho 1500 meties at Los Angeles. Ladoumeguc was second to Larva (Finland) at the last Games, but, has improved greatly since. „ Nurmi has advised the Finnish Athletic Federation (o run its trial Marathon over a shorter distance than that laid down by the Games, as he fears a full trial before the great event may impose too great a strain ori competitors.
