STEAMER DOOMED.
CREW ESCAPE IN BOATS. VESSEL FILLED WITH WATER. SYDNEY, Feb. 22. The inter-State freight steamer Northern Filth, which was wrecked on Brush Island, Jervis Bay, on Sunday, struck a rocky shore and was soon driven hard and fast on the rocks, in a moderate to rough sea. Late last night the ship filled with water. The crew's efforts with pumps were useless, and the 29 men on board escaped in boats to Brush Island. The vessel is now on her back, with heavy seas pounding against her.
