CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH*
Auckland.—The weather continued unsettled yesterday, the sky at times beinjj cloudy and threatening, and an occasional light shower was experienced. There was a further rise of the!! barometer, which registered 29.80;n. last night.
Wellington. Overcast, misty and showery weather conditions continued in Wellington yesterday.. The winds remained in the south.
Christchurch. —The weather in Christchurch yesterday was -dull, with a southwesterly wind and some rain. The barometer rose and registered 29.88 in. last evening.
Dunedin.—After light showers during the early part of the morning the weat.her was cloudy and fine yesterday, with brief periods of sunshine and a light northerly breeze.. The barometer showed littl* movement and registered 29.S5in<
