TROTTING CLUB MEETING.

UNFAVOURABLE WEATHER. TWEED SUITS AND ENSEMBLES.. Although the rain which threatened in tho morning did not eventuate until fairly lato in the afternoon, when a heavy shower occurred, pleasant weather conditions did not prevail for the opening day of the Auckland Trotting.Club's February Meeting at Alexandra Park yesterday. The strong, rather cold wind made tho wearing of light apparel inadvisable and tweed suits and ensembles were very popular and looked both smart and attractive when worn with the neat tricorne or "bowler" hats. When light crepe de chine frocks were worn they were usually covered with tweed or face-cloth coats, while a touch of colour was given by quite a number of bright raincoats.

Bray, who wore a black tailored suit with a black and white figured crepe de chine scarf and a black Bangkok hat; Mrs. Neilsen, lime patterned crepe de chine frock with a black coat and small black hat; Mrs. Garland, black flecked tweed coat and small black velvet hat; Mrs. J. Carr, navy and white checked frock and navy straw hat; Mrs. Beale. black and primrose patterned crepe de chine ensemble and primrose felt hat; Mrs. M. Walker, navy tailored suit and navy "bowler" hat; Mrs. K. A. Snedden, primrose figured crepe de chine frock with a black coat and black straw hat; Mrs. J. W. Moore, sedge green cloth ensemble and green felt hat to match: Mrs. Donald McDonald, black suit with a white crepe d« chine blouse and black Bangkok hat; Mrs. C. 'Phillips, beige coat with musquash collar and cuffs and a small black velvet hat; Mrs. R. Trenchard Smith, beige crepe de chine ensemble and natural ballibuntal hat; Mrs. C. Rosser, bottle green coat with a skunk collar and small bottle green felt hat; Mrs. Macfarquhar, black pin spotted suit and black Bangkok hat; Mrs. M. G. Pezaro, black suit with a black and white small checkfed blouse and close-fitting black straw hat; Mrs. W. Johnson, fawn cloth suit and fawn volourhat; Mrs. A. .E. Watkins, chocolate brown embossed chenille georgette suit and chocolate brown ballibuntal hat to match.

Horton, navy blue ensemble with a lemon jumper and navy tagel hat; Mrs. J. Jenkins, navy blue pleated suit and blue felt hat to match ; Mrs. J. Skelton, navy blue ensemble and blue tagel hat; Mis. E. Asher, almond green crepe de chine ensemble and white tagel hat; Mrs. C. Storrnont, cherry crepe de chine frock with .1 white coat and white felt hat; Mrs. S. Reynolds, fawn mixed tweed ensemble and hat to tone; Mrs. F. Cleaver, bottle green suit and green "bowler" hat to match; Mrs. H. Birch (Hamilton), grey cloth costume and small grey felt hat; Mrs. G.
