AUCKLAND REGIMENT.

BIVOUAC TRAINING. COMMENCEMENT OF CAMP. Bivouac training of about 120 members of the First Battalion, Auckland Regi ment, is being carried out at Longbeach this week. Work commenced yesterday morning and camp will be broken on Saturday. The officer in command is Lieutenant-Colonel N. L. Mncky. The course of instruction includes machine-gun practice, signalling and the technical side of modern warfare. Considerable stress is being placed on tactical training.

.An inspection of the camp will be made to-day by the general officer commanding the New Zealand Forces, Major-General W. L. H. Sinclair-Burgess, who will be accompanied by Colonel J. E. Duigan, officer commanding tile Northern Command, and Lieutenant-Colonel S. J. E. Closey.
