KING'S WHARF STATION.

BOILER PLANT TROUBLE. A report from its consulting engineers in London, Messrs. Preece, Cardew and Rider, has been received by the Auckland Power Board stating that tlvy have been in negotiation with the firm concerned regarding the trouble experienced with the new boiler furnaces at King's Wharf power station. The engineers stated tliey hoped to bf> able to furnish a full report in a short time and to complete the proposals, probably on the lines of reconstruction with water-cooled walls. The proposals would cover the whole of the position—the reinstatement of the plant and the financial adjustments. The chairman,. Mr. W. J, Holdsworth, stated at a meeting of the board yesterday that whether tho board would be justified in entering into any large expenditure in connection with the boilers now that Arapuni was being restored would require careful consideration.
