WHOOPING COUGH CASES.
MINOR OTAHUHU EPIDEMIC.
CHILDREN REMOVED TO MILFORD
Whooping cough lias been prevalent among children at St. Mary's Homes, Otahuhu, in tho past few days. As a precautionary measure 14 of the 40 children were taken to a convalescent home at Milford yesterday afternoon.
" As it is not a notifiable disease, it is impossible to state definitely the number of other cases, if any," said Dr. T. J. Hughes, medical officer of health, last evening. " Apparently tho outbreak at the homo is an isolated instance. " Certainly whooping cough was unusually prevalent at the end of lasl year, but there have been very few cases since the new year," Dr. Hughes added.
