The Sydney Daily Telegraph says further legal action against Colonel Eric Campbell, leader of the New Guard, is believed to bo contemplated by the Government of New South Wales. • The Chief Secretary, Mr. M. Gosling, said he had received a report from the Acting-Superintendent of the Metropolitan Police, Mr. Irving, concerning Colonel Campbell's speech 011 Thursday in which he is alleged to have said: " Ono of the police who took a prominent part in the ' insulting words' case has been promoted and one defective who made the mistake of saying he thought I was an honourable man. has been reduced in rank." , Mr. Irving says these statements are not correct. No police officer concerned in the case was either promoted or lost rank.
