WEEK-END WEATHER.
CONDITIONS IN THE SOUTH. Auckland.—Boisterous and wet weather prevailed during the week-end. The wind, which had changed <o the south-west, blew in frequent squalls, accompanied by heavy showers. Yesterday afternoon the squalls were less frequent and the conditions improved. On Saturday afternoon the barometer had fallen to J:9.40in., but it rose afterwards and registered 29.65 in. last, night. Wellington.—The city experienced a wet week-end. Drizzling rail fell throughout Saturday, and during the night there was a heavy downpour. Drenching showers fell at intervals on Sunday. There was almost a complete absence of wind. Cliristchurch.—Heavy and fairly constant rain fell on Saturday, accompanied by wind from the east. The weather yesterday was dull and threatening. Iho barometer was steady at 29.75 in. Dunedin.—A moderate to strong northeasterly wind and continuous heavy ram were experienced on Saturday, the rainfall for the 24 hours ended midnight on Saturday being about. 2jin., whicn was the. heaviest fall experienced in one day during the pa-st two or three years. Conditions remained rlamp and misty yesterday, with a strong north-easteriy wind and little sign of early improvement. The barometer was falling, the reading la ß * evening being J19.75in..
