THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE. BUSINESS CONTINUES ACTIVE. A steady volume of business was again transacted on the Auckland Stock Exchange at the single call on Saturday morning. Dealing- was quieter in Government loans, 1937, per cent, inscribed stock providing business in a safe 2s 6d lower at £99 7s 6d, City of Auckland 5| per cent. 1940 debentures were secured unaltered at £96. There, was no notable movement in banks. Late dealing on Friday was re- v corded in Commercials of Australia at 14s 2d, a fall of 2rl. Levels were steady on Saturday. The market was firm for New South Wales, for which £25 15s remained available after a. transaction un- ( changed at that price. Similar conditions were maintained in other sections of the market. Wilsons Cements were marked down 2s to change hands at 30s. A strong market existed in mining for Consolidated Goldfields, were done at 2s 6d, an advance of 7d. More were available at the price, buyers offering 2s. Golden Dawns eased 6d in trading at 7s 3d. Offers for Waihis were lowered another 2d to 17s, but supplies were firmly held at 17s 6d.
