FARM RELIEF WORK.
Si rj —Will please explain to m« the conditions under which a farmer can - employ a man under 4A scheme, and are there men available under this scheme? I called ,afc the Department of Labour, Hamiltpn, some time back and was informed that they had no men available, and that if I did fill in the necessary form I would probably ha ve to wait three months. This seems strange with 4)3,000 men idle in' New Zealand. Farmer. The Auckland office of the Labour Department advises that there is an unlimited supply of labour available for engagement under the 4A scheme. Lnder , the new system of provincial control an application such as. this should be made to the controlling officer at Auckland when the necessary labour will be made available.
