THEFT OF BICYCLE.
YOUTH GRANTED PROBATION* The theft of a bicycle, valued at £s* in Christchurch, was admitted by Albert Edward Docherty, stable-hand, aged 17, in the Police Court o n Saturday. Detective-Sergeant Kelly said accused, using an assumed name, had sold tha bicvcle for £2 2s. He had been under tha control of the Child Welfare Department. The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, ad-, mitted accused to probation for 12 month* and ordered him to make restitution.
