SPRINGBOK CRICKETERS
DEPARTURE FOR AUCKLAND. WICKETS IN AUSTRALIA. (Received February 19. 9.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, Feb. 19. The South African cricketers sailed for Auckland this afternoon by the Maunganui. In a farewell message the captain, Cameron, said liis only excuse for tho failure of the team in the test matches in Australia was the poor batting of his men, who wore used to matting wickets. The players had found every wicket in every State of Australia different, and that had intensified the team's difficulties. Nevertheless they were beaten by a belter side.
