POACHERS' CARS.
Scottish county authorities may soon Beek an amendment of the law to enable motor-cars to be forfeited when used for purposes of poaching. So much is the practice of poaching by motor-car increasing that not a week passes without cases of the kind coming before the Courts, from the Borders to the North of Scotland, and in practically every case the Sheriff has expressed regret that he has no power to order forfeiture, of cars. A legal authority said recently that the Act under which these charges are brought order forfeiture of " poachers' gear" of various kinds, " But," he 'aid, " It was passed before the motorcar was in general use, and certainly before it was suspected of being a useful a gent in transporting illicitly-caught pheasants, salmon, and rabbits."
