YOUTHFUL SWIMMERS.

MOUNT ALBERT GRAMMAR. ANNUAL SPORTS CARNIVAL McCOWAN SENIOR CHAMPION. Keen competition and invariably close finishes in the various events were provided at the annual swimming sports of the Mount Albert Grammar School, held in the lepid Baths yesterday afternoon. A large number of pupils and friends of the school watched the races, there being an atmosphere of enthusiasm typical of a school eports Gathering. A programme of 39 events was decided and in the 33 1-3 yards junior handicap event there were 10 heats, and 16 in the 33 1-3 yards senior handicap. The 6ports were ably controlled by the officials. The senior championship was won with n. total of 15 points by A. I. McCownn, who was successful in winning three titles, for 50 yards. 100 yards and 220 yards. I. A. Grant, who was runner-up in each event, was second with nine points. In the junior championship, L. C. Webster won the 33 1-3 yards, 50 yards and JOO yards events, the points scored being as follows—L. C. Webster, 15; M. Marsh, 7- A. Kronfeld, 4; T. R. Overton, 2; T. Ingram, 2. Three school records were broken the 50 yards 100 yards and 220 vards senior championships, ail of which were won bv W. Morris, who proved himself to be a swimmer of considerable ability.
